There is no need for us to rely on pharmaceutical drugs when our beautiful plant kingdom has all we need to treat ourselves and our family. Let’s looks at a few of the wonderful benefits of these natural healing plants.
Bupleurum is a wonderful Chinese herb that is anti-viral, anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory. It has a slight tranquiliser effect and is useful for relieving pain and normalizing bowel function. This is the reason it a very effective herb for pre-menstrual tension.
Black Cohosh is a muscle and nerve relaxant, and is a phytoestrogen. It promotes the flow of menstrual blood and is also an anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic and diuretic. These actions help sooth menstrual congestion, headache, hot flushes and swelling.
Dong Quai is another amazing women’s herb. It helps to regulate the menstrual cycle, ease cramping and soothe out the emotional turmoil that often accompanies the hormonal cycle. When used during menopause it can relieve hot flushes, vaginal dryness, and insomnia.
Raspberry Leaf has long been regarded as a universal herb for women. It has been used to relieve menstrual cramps and curb excessive bleeding.
